'Street Light On Washwick

Oil on canvas board 8X10

I painted the jungle view outside my garage/art studio. Everything comes alive at night around here! Even in January you can hear the crickets and frogs chirping in the night air. These cabbage palms are gathered together with their branches hanging low in a circle around the street light. I tried to pull out the lit up branches and wire from the telephone pole with a pallet knife. You can see the yellow/green sweep of paint hanging low over the cul de sac. I painted most of this with the knife hoping to give the painting more dimension and weight.
