Further progress on 'Bride' painting..oil on 73 " canvas.

While reading Matthew 5's famous Sermon on the Mount, I wondered...Jesus blessed the poor in spirit, the mournful, the meek, the ones seeking justice, merciful, pure in heart, the peacemakers... We get mail all the time from charities asking for help...the hurting children of the world must have hurting spirits as well.
and those persecuted for His sake. ...like 'Voice of the Martyrs' ministries...so many being persecuted even today.
He promised that all these would receive amazing gifts in heaven. 'Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you." Matt 5:12. Just being able to reside in His kingdom would be enough for most of us, but to be given a present by the God of all creation as well, would be beyond anyone's wildest dreams!!

The image of a waiting bride is all of this, a plural entity, made up of generations of rejoicing prayer warriors, martyrs and forgiven masses, wearing the spotless righteousness of Christ...her garment was white linen as described in Revelation 19...but if she were to be painted as described, I would include in her veil, some images..maybe, we'll see how it looks... not sure how to portray this...but here is what I have so far..She has to be made up of all those mentioned in Christ's Sermon!

But just imagine being in suspense for thousands of years! 'Anticipation is making her wait'...not exactly what Carly Simon's song meant...but with a new meaning for me!
